Moodle LMS is an open-source learning management system that is designed to deliver user-generated content to students and administer assessments. The accessibility of the interface and navigation has been manually tested in college using the NVDA screen-reader and meets all of the Level AA WCAG 2.1 standards as of January 2024, with one minor exception:

2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (Minimum): Generally, user-opened contents do not obscure user interface components receiving keyboard focus. However, on smaller screens or when the page is zoomed, the drawers on the course homepage can obscure focused content on the course homepage itself.

You can read the full accessibility report at Moodle VPAT January 2024

Whilst the Moodle interface and navigation is WCAG 2.1 compliant and tested, we are not able to guarantee and/or test the accessibility of all the user created content which is uploaded by teachers and learning support staff. All staff are required to produce accessible documents and have been provided with training/advice on how to do so. In the unlikely event that you encounter a document which is not accessible you should inform the member of staff that provided it so it can be modified and updated.
